Meet Loy Kiser: Founder of The Other Woman, Inc.

In the South, people often call me a "rare breed." I think they're referring to the fact that I'm a third-generation Raleigh native. Or possibly my devotion to family that led me to create The Other Woman when my first child was born.

Whatever their reasons, I don't think I'm a "rare" breed, just a fair one. See, I believe in Karma--what goes around comes around. And I've lived my life as though everything I send out to the world will be returned to me in kind. I've also run my business the same way.

What you might discover about me if we spend time talking:

    * I'm easy-going, and try to avoid creating stress. My office is the same way. I'm located in Cameron Village, but just like in the early days of my business, I still keep things fun and light-hearted at the office.

    * I care about people. Whether it's my own family, my employees, my customers, or a stranger, I try to get to know the people around me. Also, when people depend on me I do everything in my power to help them. That's why I pay my employees a living wage. As a single mother and someone who pulled herself up by her bootstraps, I know no one can live on such little income.

    * I'm humble. I've gotten near the top of the corporate ladder and have traveled around the country on business trips. But my home is where my heart is.  Life has brought me a long way, and I'm happy for that fact. True, I started and currently run a successful business that employs other people. But if you were to ask, I'd still say that I simply clean homes. I guess I'm just wired that way.

Many of our customers have been with us for years.  They develop a liking for a particular person or way of doing things, and they call us again and again. Contact The Other Woman today at 919.832.1756.

Help every week

I use The Other Woman as a catch all for anything that I have been unable to get to during the week.  I sit down the night before they come and write my list.  I never have time to wash the linens on any of the beds, so that is on the list every week, the rest can include: sweep the side porch, wipe out the fridge, baseboards, reorganize the linen closet.  I like being able to ask for something different every week.
